Nayaka Clarence, aged nine Start level (maths) : 7A Youngest Completer of the Kumon Maths Programme to date

I started Kumon when I was a year-and-a-half old. My mum told me that it was not easy to do Kumon. It needed a lot of attention and extra patience, but my mum taught me through drawing because I like drawing very much. I asked my dad if I did not understand the higher levels.

Because of Kumon, I am more competitive, I am also more disciplined and can manage my time well. I can do well in school and still do other activities like football, tennis, chess, drawing, computer games, music and watch football on ESPN and Star Sports. My favourite football teams are Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. I would like to go to England someday to see Manchester United play, and I hope I can see my favourite players. I also love reading, especially about dinosaurs, which is why I am going to Chicago and New York with my family, to see the dinosaurs museums, followed by summer music school in Jullia Rd University, New York.

Besides the activities above, I started playing piano when I was 5 years old and now I am in grade 5. I can play piano composed by J.S.Bach, F.J.Hayden, C.Czerny 740, A.Tcherepnin, Mendelssohn, W.A.Mozart, C.Debussy and also complete Mozart Concerto K414. My favourite composers are Mozart and Chopin.
