Students from across Kumon Ireland were honoured for studying maths and English programmes several years above their equivalent school level at an Advanced Student Roll Awards Ceremony (ASR).
The ceremony was held at Dublin's prestigious Crown Plaza Hotel, Santry and saw students from areas that included Bray, Malahide and Mount Merrion, awarded medals and awards for reaching Bronze, Silver and Gold levels in Kumon's study programmes.
Award winners included Bray based sisters, Camille and Nicole Brown, aged six and 10 years old respectively. They both received Gold awards in English and Maths for completing work equivalent to several years above their curricular study ages. At levels C in Maths and C1 in English, Camille has built knowledge of how to structure sentences and analyse texts, and in maths, acquired mental multiplication skills.
Aged 10 and with levels H in maths and H2 in English now completed, Nicole has studied simultaneous equations and identified how paragraphs flow through the use of 'link' words while further developing her summarising skills.
Joshua Ross, Kumon Educational PR Manager, UK and Ireland said: "The Ireland ASR represents a key stage in the award winners Kumon journey. By starting at the 'Just Right' level and progressing rapidly through the programme, these students have reached a significant stage and their Instructors and parents will be proud. We believe that a students potential is limitless and these children exemplify the independent, self-learners that Kumon works to cultivate."
He continued: "By reaching Bronze, Silver and Gold levels our award winners demonstrate the successes that long term commitment to the Kumon programme can help bring."
