Kumon Ireland celebrates World Book Day

World Book Day is fast approaching and education provider Kumon fully supports this global initiative which aims to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading. These aims are very close to Kumon's heart.

Kumon is one of the leading after-school education providers in the UK and Ireland, offering both maths and English programmes for children of all ages and abilities. Kumon exists to provide as many children as possible with the opportunity to learn and aims to give them the best chance in life by offering a unique and individualised study programme that is tailored to the needs of each child.

The Kumon English Programme was designed with two main objectives. The first was to develop the ability to read and understand a wide variety of texts, and the second, to develop a life-long habit of reading for both education and enjoyment.

World Book Day is taking place on 5 March and Kumon welcomes this fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of reading amongst children. Kumon is celebrating this special day by running a competition on its website to win a fantastic prize. The reading competition is open to all children who are invited to submit reviews of their favourite books. To enter the competition, go to the Kumon Kids activities section at Kumon.ie. The competition will go live on the website on World Book Day.

Mike John, Kumon UK and Ireland's English Project Manager says:
"Kumon's English programme focuses not only on improving children's reading ability but also on developing a love of reading. We firmly believe that the continued development of reading helps students achieve their potential in many academic subjects, as well as developing their creative minds for life-long success."
