Kumon Malahide opened in May 2010. Its located in the ground floor of St. Sylvesters GAA Hall, on Church Road in Malahide village. The centre opens on Tuesday afternoons between 2.30 – 4.30 and Saturday mornings between 10.00 – 12.00.
Students attend the class at anytime between the opening hours and only stay for the time it takes for them to complete their worksheets for that day plus any corrections they may have, usually 20 – 30 minutes.
The programmes
Kumon puts the emphasis on providing a traditional grounding in maths and building firm foundations in its core elements. It does this by focusing on the key aspects your child will need to do well in school: developing total fluency in arithmetic, a mastery of basic algebra, and learning vital study skills such as concentration, independent study and perserverance.
The two main aims of the Kumon English programme: to develop the ability to read and understand a wide variety of texts, to digest and use information quickly and accurately and to develop a life-long habit of reading for both education and enjoyment.
