The Kumon study centre in Mallow opened in February 2005 and offers maths and English programs for local students and correspondence study for students nationwide. Hundreds of students have benefited from Kumon study over the years and we currently have over forty students, ranging from three to 15 years of age.
Originally operating from the Mallow Parish Hall, we expanded in 2010 and now also offer a Saturday class at the Mallow GAA Sports Complex.
Kumon programmes offer much more than traditional grinds, in that they not only cater for students needing remedial study, but aim to develop independent learning skills, enabling children to advance ahead of their school level and hence develop confidence and self-esteem.
Our aspiration is to provide an enjoyable learning environment, where children can easily recognise the benefit and importance of long-term study with the Kumon programmes. Kumon is a seven-days a week, 365-days a year programme, working to the principles of 'little and often' and 'practice makes perfect'.
