My name is Mena Edgar and I became the Instructor of the Kumon Rathmines Study Centre in January 2013. I have always had a passion for education and have always been grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to further my education in Alexandra College, Dublin. I strongly believe that education makes a massive difference throughout one’s life. This love for learning is what led me to become the Instructor at the Rathmines Study Centre.
My own background consists of obtaining a Master degree in Engineering and working in that industry for over 16 years as an Engineer in multinationals both in Ireland and the US. In the past few years it became apparent that I wanted a new venture that would allow me to fulfil my own career and pursue my love for education. My sister, who lives in the United States and has experience of the Kumon programme, told me to consider becoming a Kumon Instructor. With my passion for education and enthusiasm to help children advance in school, I felt Kumon was the perfect opportunity that allowed me to fulfil both.
Since becoming an Instructor I have enjoyed working closely with my students each week and helping them prosper and develop into confident, independent students. It’s a very rewarding experience and that’s why I enjoy being a Kumon Instructor.
So, as a Kumon Instructor and after having experienced my own education in Ireland and raising three children of my own in the American and Irish education system, I hope to impart my knowledge and experience to help with your child’s education and support them to become advanced, independent and confident students who will go on to contribute to the global community.
