About our centre

We are offering Free Registration to all new students joining the centre until 15 October 2026.

Thursday class 3pm - 5pm is running from: Rush Community Centre, Upper Main Street, Rush, Dublin, K56 WF22

At Kumon Rush and Lusk Study Centre, we help children build strong foundations in maths and English while developing confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our centre welcomes students from the age of three through to secondary school. The Kumon programme is suitable for pre-school children, primary school pupils, and post-primary students, with each child following an individualised study plan tailored to their current ability rather than their age or school year.

Our programmes are designed around each child's individual needs, allowing them to progress at their own pace through carefully structured Kumon worksheets. Students attend class each week, where they complete classwork under the guidance of the Instructor and assistants. Rather than simply providing answers, we encourage and support children to think independently, helping them become confident, self-reliant learners.

Students also complete daily homework to reinforce learning, develop positive study habits, and ensure steady progress. Regular assessment and ongoing guidance enable every child to progress comfortably and reach their full potential.

We welcome children of all abilities and work closely with families to support each child's learning journey. Whether your child needs to strengthen core skills, catch up, or move ahead, Kumon provides a structured pathway to long-term academic success, independent learning, and the confidence to thrive both in school and beyond.

Shriya Shriya

About your Instructor

Hello, my name is Shriya, and I am delighted to welcome you to the Kumon Rush and Lusk Study Centre.

I hold a Master of Commerce degree and have qualified in the University Grants Commission (UGC) Examination. With over a decade of teaching experience, I have always been passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. Alongside my career in accounting, I have continued to pursue my passion for education and supporting young learners.

As a Kumon Instructor, my goal is to help every child develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Kumon is much more than tuition; it is a personalised learning programme that helps children build strong foundations in maths and English while developing the self-learning skills they need to approach new challenges with confidence.

Each child follows an individualised study plan that is carefully tailored to their current ability and set at the "just-right" level, enabling them to progress at their own pace. Through daily practice, regular guidance, and consistent encouragement, students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and often advance beyond their school year level.

I am committed to creating a positive, supportive, and welcoming environment where every child feels encouraged to succeed and can reach their full potential. I look forward to working with families in Rush and Lusk, supporting each child's learning journey and celebrating their achievements as they grow into confident, independent learners.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
